“Icons” was the first art NFT collection on the Cardano blockchain to have a functional, fully on-chain, open-source smart contract embedded in its metadata.
The NFT sale and royalties smart contract was first executed on September 12, 2021, minutes after smart contracts became a technical possibility on Cardano.
The collection was released to mark this pivotal moment in the blockchain’s history and features portrayals of Cardano’s most important namesake figures, Ada Lovelace, Gerolamo Cardano & Mary Shelley.
