DocsCreator royalties

Creator royalties

When an item from your collection sells on JamOnBread, our contract pays the royalty in the same transaction. It goes to a royalty account that only your royalty wallet can claim from.

How it is paid

The royalty comes out of the seller's share, so the buyer's price does not change. On a ₳100 sale with a 5% royalty, ₳5.00 goes to the creator's royalty account and the seller receives ₳92.50 after the fee. The contract checks the royalty on every sale: a transaction that pays less fails.

Sales on jpg.store or Wayup are paid by their own contracts, the way they always have been. Only royalties from sales on JamOnBread collect in your royalty account.

Where the rate comes from

The royalty rate and wallet come from one of two places: what the collection published on-chain under the CIP-27 royalty standard, or what the project owner asked us to set. They are shown on every item before anyone buys or lists. A royalty wallet has to be a normal wallet that can sign: an address controlled by a smart contract could never claim, so collections that pay one are listed without a royalty.

How to claim

  1. Open Royalties from the menu.
  2. Connect the wallet that receives your collection's royalty.
  3. Sign a free message to prove it is yours. This is not a transaction and costs nothing.
  4. See every sale that paid you, then claim. One transaction collects the royalties of all your collections at once.

A small deposit stays in the account after a claim. Cardano requires every output on the chain to hold a minimum amount of ADA, and your royalty account is made of outputs at our contract. Keeping the deposit means the next sale adds to the account instead of opening a new one, which the buyer would pay for. It stays yours.
